About Kendy

Hey there! If you’ve made it to this page you’ve likely found who you’re looking for. Just in case though, my name is Kendy Doolen and I am excited to share a little bit about myself with you. Raised in the Ozarks of Missouri, grown in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and finally landing in the PNW on the Puget Sound in my 30s and I’m stoked to be here!

As someone who is naturally inclined to learn and lead, I have found myself growing my career in Instructional Design after gaining years of experience in program development, managing volunteers & staff management, and project management. Through these experiences, I have developed strong skills in relating to people and cultivating spaces of connection where individuals can feel safe to share their ideas and be themselves.

These skills are especially important in the field of Instructional Design, where creating meaningful and effective learning experiences is all about understanding the needs of the learner and creating an environment that fosters growth and development. My ability to connect with people on a personal level has allowed me to create training and learning experiences that are tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

I am truly honored to have the opportunity to create impactful learning experiences that help people grow and develop both personally and professionally. Every day, I am learning new things and discovering new ways to approach the challenges that come with this field. I believe that growth and development are lifelong pursuits worth committing too.

In 2022, I made a significant investment in my personal and professional development by obtaining a coaching certification in Nature Connected Coaching. This program was a transformative experience that exposed me to a wide range of skills that I now apply in my daily life, both personally and professionally.

Through this program, I have gained a deep understanding of the importance of developing strong relationships, creating safe and supportive spaces for exploration, and leveraging the natural environment to achieve goals.

Additionally, I have learned how to apply these principles and practices to a variety of settings, including individual coaching sessions, team coaching, and organizational coaching. I have also developed a range of skills related to active listening, effective communication, and empathy, which have been invaluable in my work as a Learning Experience Designer.

Obtaining a coaching certification in Nature Connected Coaching has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I am grateful for the skills and knowledge that I have gained through this program, and I look forward to continuing to apply these skills to help others achieve their goals and live more fulfilling lives.

When I am not working, I enjoy being outside hiking, camping, or climbing. I also love to have slow days and just see where the time takes me. Sometimes it takes me to the farmer’s market, sometimes a comedy show, others a long walk with a podcast. I find that these activities help me to stay energized and grounded, and provide a good balance to my work life.

Overall, I am excited to continue my journey and to continue creating meaningful learning experiences that make a difference in people's lives. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me!
